Dreaming of Warmer Weather

I am dreaming of Spring and Summer. Winter has been too long here in the Midwest and I am so over it. The grey and white landscape is dulling my mind. I miss my favorite colors green, pink and purple. I miss my flowers. I am looking forward to birds chirping and flowers blooming and the warm sun shining.

This photo is of my deck one summer. As you can see, I really like my potted flowers! It was such an adorable space and was fun to sit and relax among all the blooming flowers. Dear Spring and Summer, please visit me soon....I miss you!

Storage Jars

Today I went hunting for small storage jars for some of my beads and trinkets. I found some wonderful little rustic jars at an antique store for a great price. I knew these little jars would be just what I needed. However, they were a bit dull when I bought them and so I decided to give them a little character.
They started out with plain white lids with a bit of rust on them.

I used alcohol inks to color them.

Then I added stamps and cut outs using mod podge.
I am pleased with the final results and have already filled these little jars with my treasures!

Minnesota Music

I wanted to share a picture of a local MN singer and songwriter Ashleigh Still. She is wearing one of my creations in this picture called "The Sinner."  Ashleigh has a cd out called "Firefly" which is a mix of her soothing vocals and electric bass by Nick Salisbury. To see and hear more of Ashleigh check out this link:

Digital Fun

Lately I have really had the itch to do some creative digital design using my Corel Paint Shop Pro. I have owned this computer progran for a few years now, but never really had the time to figure out anything more than the basics. The software only came with a simple manual and really wasn't much help at all.  Lucky for me, there are several free tutorials that I found on the web that helped me find my way around. Here is a sample of an image I modified. This picture of Mary was taken last year in Isla Mujeres Cemetary, Mexico.  It is one of my favorite images of Mary. If anyone else out there is looking for help using Corel, I found the following websites helpful:
