Oronoco Gold Rush Days

I spent last weekend in Oronoco MN for the annual Gold Rush Days. The ENTIRE town (well its not very big-but still) is filled with different junk vendors. It's so much fun and takes more than one day to cover the entire event. I had a great time picking and wheeling and dealing for my treasures. Here are some pics of some of the loot I came back with. Wedding Gift

My good friend Lisa was recently married and I decided to make her a wedding gift of jewelry. I soldered a picture of her and her husband to a vintage prism. I hand wired the chain using pretty stones and Czech glass and combined it with upcycled chain. Congratulations Lisa!

Finished Vanity

As promised here is the reveal of my latest project. I will be using this as a make-up vanity in our master bathroom. I took several different photos some with the flash on and some with it off. I also took some pictures with our bathroom lights on and off. Our bathroom lights tend to give it a yellow glow, but it is not yellow at all. I used Annie Sloan Old White Chalk Paint, then finished her with clear wax. What do you think?

What I Am Working On Now

A friend of mine found this cute old dresser at a rummage sale for me. I could see that it needed some work but definately had potential. The shape is beautiful and the neatest part of it is that it has key holes in the drawers and included the original skeleton key. One of the drawers needed the bottom replaced due to a huge hole in it. The other drawers also needed a little bit of glueing and clamping. I have already painted it with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White. Now I am in the distressing phase. I ordered new cute oval glass hardware to replace the existing boring wooden knobs. For some reason I did not take a before pic of it with all of the drawers in so these pics will have to do. Stay tuned for the reveal later this week!

New Pretties

Here are a couple of new necklaces I have been working on. I really am not happy with the current camera I have been using. These pieces are much prettier in person. I'm hoping to replace this camera soon. Any suggestions for a good camera that takes close ups?
